Creamy chocolate milk (without milk)

Inspired by (or stolen from) a “soda” (small restaurant) in Guancaste, Costa Rica, this recipe makes for a cold, creamy, genuine chocolate drink on a hot day.

Equipment

  • 1 Blender

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp chocolate powder pure, no sugar
  • 1 each banana, very ripe
  • 2 tbsp coconut, grated grated
  • 1 liter water

Instructions
 

  • Put all ingredients in a blender, preferably a high-speed blender with a powerful motor.
  • Blend at least twenty seconds.

Notes

Optionally, add ice cubes to the mix, another banana, drops of pure stevia to sweeten, or a pinch of ginger to add flavor. Cocoa has caffeine, so if you are sensitive to caffeine, it is better to drink this in the beginning or middle of your day. This recipe is both paleo and vegan. With ice cubes, this can make a delicious smoothie on a hot tropical day.
